In short

Managers, finance managers, and project leaders learn to measure the net gain of an AI use case. Participants establish a baseline, repeat a comparable trial with an AI like ChatGPT, accounting for time, quality, errors, and costs. They then document a decision based on observed results, to concretely evaluate the added value.

Why this training?

The problem
Organizations struggle to concretely assess the contribution of artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot in their daily operations.
What it costs today
Decisions to integrate or abandon AI are often made without tangible evidence, leading to ineffective investments or missed opportunities.
Why this skill
This skill is necessary to objectively measure the actual added value of AI on specific tasks before any generalization.
What you gain
The participant and the company gain a factual basis for strategic AI decisions, strengthening process reliability and evaluation autonomy.

Objectives of this training

  • Precisely define a task to be evaluated for artificial intelligence application.
  • Measure the time and resources required for a task without AI assistance.
  • Conduct a comparative trial of a task with the help of artificial intelligence.
  • Calculate the time and costs associated with performing a task with AI.
  • Compare the results of executions with and without AI.
  • Formulate an informed recommendation on the use of AI for a given task.

Who is it for and what are the prerequisites?

Roles and tasks concerned

  • Managers evaluating the integration of new technologies
  • Financial managers analyzing return on investment
  • Project managers implementing innovative solutions
  • Operational managers optimizing daily processes

Prior skills

  • AI Fundamentals and AI Prompting completed, or equivalent experience (a learning prerequisite, not a registration condition).
  • Knowledge of a repeatable business task
  • Identification of a non-confidential task example
  • Estimation of the usual time for this task without assistance
  • A paid subscription to an AI solution offering the features used, the organisation’s authorisation for third-party tools, and the actual accounts and access rights.

To prepare before the session

  • A repeatable and non-confidential task
  • An example of the task
  • A computer with an authorized professional account

What you will work on

  1. Establish the baseline

The participant is able to document a control task and its assumptions, defining the unit of work and quality criteria.

  2. Conduct an AI trial

The participant is able to perform an AI trial under comparable conditions and track its progress.

  3. Count all times and costs

The participant is able to complete a calculator integrating preparation, execution, review, corrections, subscriptions, and opportunity costs.

  4. Decide and define next measure

The participant is able to compare trials and defend a decision based on observed data.

What you take away

  • Net gain calculation spreadsheet
  • Error and quality grid
  • Decision note
  • Reproducible measurement protocol

Method and assessment

  • Measurement on an existing task rather than an ideal demonstration
  • Repeated tests of comparable complexity
  • Assumptions, errors and costs made visible in the decision

Formative assessment audits the protocol, spreadsheet and decision note. The comparison must include all working time, observable quality criteria, at least one repetition and comparable complexity. No gain or return on investment is guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly does this workshop measure?

The workshop measures the net gain of an AI use case on an existing task. It compares a human baseline with an assisted trial while counting preparation, execution, review, corrections, errors and costs. It is narrower than the half-day course covering value and a complete business case.

Who is this half-day workshop for?

It is designed for managers, finance leads and project managers who need evidence rather than an impressive demonstration. Participants do not need statistical expertise. They should be able to describe a repeatable task, its expected output and the controls required before the result is used.

What prerequisites and input are required?

Bring a repeatable task, a non-confidential example and an estimate of the usual time, plus a computer and approved professional account. No previous ROI data is required. Where actual figures are unavailable, any numerical examples used are explicitly identified as simulated.

How does the measurement exercise work?

Participants define a work unit and its complexity, establish a baseline, run a comparable AI-assisted variant and repeat the trial. They time preparation, production, review and corrections, log errors and apply the same quality criteria to avoid a biased comparison.

What deliverables are produced?

Each participant completes a net-gain spreadsheet, error checklist, decision note and repeatable measurement protocol. Assumptions remain visible. These are working materials built during the workshop, not pre-filled proof of savings and not a certified financial report. The answer remains adapted to the organisation’s context, verified access and actual responsibilities.

Why repeat the test at comparable complexity?

One easy example can produce a misleading conclusion. Repeating the trial and using tasks of comparable complexity helps distinguish a repeatable benefit from a learning effect, unusually favourable data or a difference in quality. The decision remains limited to the scope that was actually observed.

Does the workshop guarantee positive ROI?

No. The conclusion may be to proceed, adjust, test further or stop the use case. No gain, savings percentage or return on investment is promised. The purpose is to expose checking and correction costs that are often omitted from a quick estimate.

What are the price and commercial format?

The course lasts half a day and is delivered in person as a private session for up to 12 participants. The fee is €1,250 excluding VAT per session. The date, location, measured task and working language — French, Dutch or English — are agreed with the organisation.
