Delivery delays
How can you prioritise delivery delays with a prioritisation method and a suitable spreadsheet?
1960 € per session, excl. VAT
In short
Participants learn to control delivery delays. They match orders and receipts, define delay and criticality, check calculations and dates, then build an exception queue with an owner and action. The outcome is a checked table, justified priorities and a daily review template, enhancing workflow management.
Why this training?
- The problem
- Teams often manage delivery delays reactively, without a structured process.
- What it costs today
- Intuition drives decisions, leading to poorly defined priorities and actions on non-critical cases.
- Why this skill
- This skill is necessary to establish recurrent operational control and explicit rules for delivery anomalies.
- What you gain
- The participant and the company gain data reliability and autonomy in managing delays with justified priorities.
Objectives of this training
- Match order and receipt identifiers to identify data joining anomalies.
- Define explicit rules for delay and criticality in delivery scenarios.
- Verify calculations proposed by an authorised AI assistant for data accuracy.
- Produce a prioritized exception queue with an assigned owner and action.
- Draft a daily review template for structured delay monitoring.
Who is it for and what are the prerequisites?
Roles and tasks concerned
- Supply chain and logistics teams
- Operational buyers and procurement specialists
- Flow and planning managers
Prior skills
- AI Fundamentals and AI Prompting completed, or equivalent experience (a learning prerequisite, not a registration condition).
- Regular practice of a suitable spreadsheet (filters, simple formulas)
- Access to an authorised AI assistant offering the required features
- Knowledge of order and receipt processes
- A paid subscription to an AI solution offering the features used, the organisation’s authorisation for third-party tools, and the actual accounts and access rights.
To prepare before the session
- Verify functional access to an authorised AI assistant offering the required features.
- Have a common practice of a suitable spreadsheet (filters, simple formulas).
- Prepare a fictitious business case for order management.
What you will work on
How to understand the export and match the data?
Identify the shared keys between orders, commitments and receipts. Spot inconsistent date formats, duplicates and orphan lines.
How to define delay and criticality?
Write an explicit delay rule based on the committed date. Build a criticality score combining customer impact, stock and supplier.
How to calculate with an AI assistant and verify?
Ask an authorised AI assistant for calculation columns and conditional formatting. Check every formula, the dates and the control totals.
How to build the exception queue?
Sort delays by criticality and assign an owner. Attach an action and a follow-up date to each line.
How to communicate and make the review routine?
Prepare a sober supplier message to approve before sending. Define the flow of a short daily review.
What you take away
- Controlled exception table
- List of justified priorities
- Daily delay review template
Method and assessment
- Work on a fictional export reproducing common anomalies
- Systematic comparison between manual calculation and the AI assistant's proposal
- Rules written down before any automated calculation
The table is assessed on matching accuracy, clarity of the delay and criticality rules, formula checks, an owner and action for every exception, and the sobriety of the supplier message.
Frequently asked questions
What concrete result does this course deliver?
The team has a checked exception table and a daily review routine based on explicit rules. Deliverables: checked exception table, list of justified priorities, daily delay review template.
Who is this course for and what are the prerequisites?
It is designed for: supply chain and logistics teams, operational buyers and replenishment planners, flow and planning managers. Regular use of a suitable spreadsheet (filters, simple formulas) and access to an authorised AI assistant offering the required features are needed. Exports used are fictional; no ERP access is required.
What data and access need to be arranged?
The exercise export is fictional. Access to an authorised AI assistant and its activation are checked before the session; no connection to an ERP or production data is needed. Required tools and licences are checked before the session; no subscription is included in the price.
What practical exercise is completed?
Participants work on a fictional export of orders, commitments and receipts. They match identifiers, define delay and criticality, check dates and calculations, produce an exception queue with an owner and action, and prepare a supplier message for approval.
What are the limits and who validates the results?
The course does not produce automatic forecasts and does not change any ERP. The AI assistant proposes calculations that the team checks; the supplier message is approved by a manager before sending.
Can the course be adapted to our line of work?
During scoping, the structure of the fictional export, the criticality rules and the roles are aligned with the context: distribution, manufacturing, indirect purchasing or service logistics.
How is the session organised and what does it cost?
Full day, private in-person session for up to 12 participants. The fee is €1,960 excluding VAT per session. Date and location are agreed during scoping; each session runs in a single language: French, Dutch or English.
