Getting started with Lovable
How do you get to grips with Lovable?

In short
Half a day to get to grips with Lovable: this three-hour half-day session introduces Lovable through guided exercises. Participants identify the useful elements of the interface, formulate a simple request, observe the result and request a targeted change. They learn to check a practice page, without sensitive data or any intention of deploying it to production.
Why this training?
An overly vague instruction in Lovable leaves many choices to the system: page layout, content and expected behaviour. Describing a small task and its boundaries helps you compare the request with the result rather than relying solely on its appearance. Code generation does not remove the need to check what actually works. From the very first exercises, the training distinguishes a visually convincing page from verified behaviour, and establishes habits of caution around data, secrets and successive changes. Running case study: The fictitious association « Éclats de Quartier » wants to present three creative workshops on a demonstration page. Participants use invented titles, times and descriptions. The page includes an introduction, three workshop cards and a link to a practical information section, with no registration or data collection. Application at work: After the session, reuse the saved instructions to request another fictitious page in Lovable, with your organisation’s permission. Change just one element, check the result and record any discrepancies before requesting a human review.
Objectives of this training
- Identify the useful areas of the available Lovable interface.
- Formulate an instruction describing a page and its boundaries.
- Request a targeted change without changing the overall requirement.
- Check the text, navigation and readability of the result.
- Identify sensitive information to exclude from instructions.
Who is it for and what are the prerequisites?
Roles and tasks concerned
- Non-developer staff wishing to discover how to create pages with Lovable.
- Team leaders wishing to understand the possibilities and limitations of an initial guided use.
Prior skills
- No prior AI knowledge or programming skills required.
- Ability to browse the web and enter text.
What you will work on
Finding your way before making a request
Objective: Understand the basic workflow in Lovable. Exploration of the interface according to the version available: entering instructions, consulting responses and examining the result. A cautious introduction to code generation, with reference to the official documentation for details.
Describing a first page
Objective: Turn an idea into a usable instruction. Structure of a request: audience, content, sections, expected behaviour and constraints. The difference between requesting a display and requesting an operational service.
Making changes without losing sight of the requirement
Objective: Make a simple, verifiable correction. Modifying code based on instructions, specifying the change precisely and retaining satisfactory elements. Reading responses critically, without assuming they are correct.
Checking and knowing when to stop
Objective: Check the page and recognise the limits of the exercise. Simple tests of the text, link and readability; human review; exclusion of secrets. Distinction between an educational demonstration and deployment to production.
What you take away
- Reference sheet covering the interface and its uses.
- Annotated initial instruction and change request.
- Demonstration page based on the fictitious case study.
- Completed checklist with observed discrepancies.
Method and assessment
- Short explanations followed by immediate practice using the running case study.
- Individual work followed by work in pairs, with participants reviewing each other’s outputs.
- Guided group discussion: what works, what needs correcting and what remains a human decision.
- Preparation: Arrange a computer with an internet connection and check in advance that access to Lovable is authorised by the organisation and suitable for the exercises. Prepare the fictitious file for the three workshops; do not transmit any confidential documents, passwords or access keys.
Observable criteria: The participant locates where to enter an instruction and examine the result. ; The instruction specifies the three workshops, the sections and the absence of data collection. ; The requested modification concerns a clearly identifiable change. ; The check records the behaviour of the link and the readability of the cards. ; No sensitive data or secrets appear in the instructions..
Frequently asked questions
Do you need to understand the generated code?
Not for these exercises; a technical review is still necessary before any use beyond the demonstration.
Can you use a case from your professional work?
Only if it is anonymised and authorised; the fictitious case study remains the shared basis.
Will the page be deployed to production?
No. The session focuses on getting to grips with the tool, without operational publication or connection to real services.
What should you do if an option differs?
Consult the official Lovable documentation and adapt the procedure to the capabilities of the available access.
