In short
This half-day session of 3 hours introduces the uses of AI in preparing, creating and checking videos. Working from a fictional case study, participants produce a short video planning dossier, experiment with scriptwriting assistance and evaluate the results. No prior knowledge of AI is required.
Why this training?
AI can contribute at several points in a video: ideas, script, shot breakdown, images, voice or subtitles, depending on the functions available. Distinguishing between these uses avoids confusing assistance with preparation and the automatic production of a usable film. A visually convincing sequence may contain an invented instruction, an inconsistency between shots or a voice used without permission. Checks must therefore cover the message, readability, rights and transparency as well as appearance. Ongoing case study: The fictional organisation « Avelune Réemploi » wants to explain in 30 seconds how to drop off a small piece of furniture at its collection area. Opening hours and instructions are provided in a fictional brief. The short video must remain understandable without sound and must not show any identifiable people. Transfer to the workplace: After the session, apply the checklist to an existing video from your organisation: identify a task that could be assisted, specify the permitted data and have the rights validated before any further trial.
Objectives of this training
- Identify the main uses of AI before, during and after video creation.
- Distinguish between filmed, synthetic and transformed content.
- Write a guided prompt to obtain a short script and its shot breakdown.
- Identify shortcomings in coherence, readability and fidelity to the brief.
- Check points requiring attention regarding rights, consent and disclosures.
Who is it for and what are the prerequisites?
Roles and tasks concerned
- Communications officers discovering the possibilities of AI for short videos.
- Occasional contributors to internal or educational videos.
- Managers wishing to better assess a proposal for an AI-assisted video.
Prior skills
- No prior knowledge of AI required.
- Ability to use a browser and view a video file.
What you will work on
Positioning uses within a video
Objective: Recognise what AI can assist with and what still needs to be checked. Overview: script preparation, sequence generation or transformation, voice, transcription and subtitling depending on the functions available; limitations and variability of results.
Moving from brief to shot breakdown
Objective: Prepare a coherent short video with AI assistance. Prompt structure: audience, message, duration, format, visual constraints and information that must not be invented.
Observing, comparing and correcting
Objective: Assess the quality of a video proposal. Fidelity to the brief, object continuity, movement, text readability, synchronisation and subtitles; assessment as compliant, requiring correction or blocking.
Deciding on conditions for distribution
Objective: Identify the checks needed before publication. Rights to images, music and voices; consent to the use of a person's likeness; deceptive deepfakes; disclosures of the synthetic nature depending on the context and applicable obligations.
What you take away
- Annotated map of AI uses in video.
- Short video dossier: brief, 30-second script and four-shot breakdown.
- Tested prompt and corrected version of the script.
- Completed quality and legal considerations checklist.
Method and assessment
- Short explanations followed by immediate practice using the ongoing case study.
- Individual work followed by work in pairs, with peer review of the outputs.
- Guided group review: what works, what needs correcting and what remains a human decision.
- Preparation: Arrange access to a tool authorised by your organisation; check the accessible functions beforehand. Prepare the fictional brief, clips that may be used for teaching and a checklist; exclude confidential data and identifiable people.
Observable criteria: The selected uses are linked to a specific stage of video creation. ; The script incorporates the instructions from the brief without adding factual information. ; The four shots specify visuals, displayed text and indicative duration. ; The checklist examines fidelity, visual continuity and understanding without sound. ; The rights to be checked, any consent required and the necessary disclosures are flagged..
Frequently asked questions
Will we produce a finished film?
No. The main deliverable is a usable dossier for preparing a short video, accompanied by a quality check.
Do you need to know how to edit a video?
No. The exercises focus on uses, the script, the shot breakdown and critical observation.
Can you reproduce a colleague's voice?
Not in these exercises. Actual use would require, among other things, appropriate consent and a check of the rights.
What can you do without access to video generation?
Scriptwriting practice remains possible; video analysis uses the teaching clips provided, without assuming which functions are available.
