In short

In a half-day session of 3 hours you use generative AI to extract the essential learning content from a document, organise a short learning pathway and write activities and assessments. You leave with a fully planned module, its answer keys and a completed checklist for checking fidelity to the source, clarity and instructional coherence.

Why this training?

A document presents information; a module must enable people to take action. Copying its paragraphs onto screens often retains lengthy passages, unstated assumptions and exceptions that are difficult for a beginner to understand. AI can suggest a learning sequence and exercises, but it can also omit an important condition or invent a plausible answer. The course combines generation, source traceability and instructional checks to prevent these problems. Running case study: The fictitious organisation « Solmérie Fournitures » has a six-page procedure for processing returns. Its new staff confuse mandatory supporting evidence with optional documents. The challenge: produce a self-contained fifteen-minute module that enables them to decide whether a file is complete, without inventing any rules. Transfer to the workplace: Within the following two weeks, take an anonymised document from your work, apply the checklist and ask a colleague to try the module. Record misunderstood instructions and quiz errors before revising it.

Objectives of this training

  • Extract the rules, exceptions and expected actions from a document.
  • Formulate three observable learning objectives for a defined audience.
  • Build a fifteen-minute scenario aligned with these objectives.
  • Use AI to write explanations, an activity and a quiz with an answer key.
  • Check fidelity to the document and correct any discrepancies identified.

Who is it for and what are the prerequisites?

Roles and tasks concerned

  • Internal trainers who work with procedures or guides.
  • Training officers and designers of short learning content.
  • Subject matter experts required to communicate a documented instruction.

Prior skills

  • Have previous experience of formulating and refining a prompt in a generative AI assistant.
  • Be able to distinguish a business rule from an example in a professional document.

What you will work on

  1. Sort through the document before generating content

Objective: Define the learning content that is useful for new staff. Audience, target task, essential information, exceptions and out-of-scope elements; identifying source passages.

  2. Design a short learning sequence

Objective: Move from a document outline to a learning-based structure. Sequence of situation, explanation, example, practice and verification; allocation of the fifteen minutes.

  3. Write the learning materials and exercises

Objective: Produce a module that can be used without spoken commentary. Prompts specifying the audience, permitted sources, length and format; self-contained instructions, expected answers and explanations of errors.

  4. Test and correct the module

Objective: Measure the quality of the result before distribution. Checks on fidelity to the source, coverage of objectives, readability and duration; distinguishing between a documentary error and an instructional difficulty.

What you take away

  • Matrix of objectives, source content and evidence of learning.
  • Complete storyboard for the fifteen-minute module.
  • Application activity and five-question quiz with answer keys.
  • Completed checklist and list of corrections made.

Method and assessment

  • Brief explanations followed by immediate practice using the running case study.
  • Individual work followed by work in pairs, with peer review of the outputs.
  • Guided group discussion: what works, what needs correcting and what remains a human decision.
  • Preparation: Prepare a fictitious or anonymised document of four to eight pages; a shared case study is provided if none is available. Check access to an AI tool authorised by the organisation and the rules applicable to the content submitted.

Observable criteria: Each rule taught refers to an identifiable passage in the document. ; The three objectives describe a verifiable learner action. ; The scenario fits within fifteen minutes according to the detailed estimate of activity timings. ; Each objective is checked through an activity or a question with an answer key. ; No rule added without a source remains after review..

Frequently asked questions

Do you receive a module integrated into a platform?

No. The deliverable is a complete storyboard; technical integration still needs to be carried out.

Can you use a confidential procedure?

The exercises use only fictitious or anonymised content, within tools authorised by the organisation.

What should you do if the document contradicts itself?

Flag the passages concerned and pause the corresponding writing until the subject matter lead provides clarification.

Does AI validate the quiz answers?

AI can suggest a check, but the participant verifies each answer against the source document.
